Automotive Technician

Muskoka Nissan is looking for a licensed Automotive Technician, to join our growing team! Our environment is fast paced, and focused on growing our employees to their maximum potential. We are looking for someone who holds those same values to join us!

Your duties will include, but are not limited to,

· Provide exceptional customer service by explaining procedures and repairs as required to the customer, complete with accurate estimates

· Inspect motor in operation, road test motor vehicle, and test automotive systems and components using computerized diagnostic and other testing devices to diagnose and isolate faults

· Adjust, repair, or replace parts and components of automotive systems including fuel system, brakes, steering, and suspension, engine and drive train, emission control and exhaust, cooling and climate control, and electrical systems using hand tools and other specialized automotive repair equipment

· Test and adjust repaired systems to manufacturer's performance specifications

· Complete oil and filter changes

· Mount, dismount, and balance tires, including installing tires on rims

· Ensure tire inventory is neat, complete, and in order

· Install and aim headlights, remove and install radiators, alternators, horns, and windshield wipers

· Collaborate with service advisors to ensure the success of the department

· Deal with challenging situations in a professional matter

· Maintain a valid Ontario license, in good standing

· Perform accurate and complete vehicle inspections, diagnostics and repairs

· Perform daily inspections in order to ensure shop neatness and cleanliness

· Complete and review repair orders and vehicle inspection reports with customers and service advisors

· Remain current with up-to-date knowledge of operation, maintenance, and repair of most domestic and imported vehicles

We are offering a $500.00 bonus, after the candidate completes the probationary period. Your compensation package also includes 2 weeks of vacation per annum, plus a comprehensive benefits package to be available after 3 months. We also offer guaranteed hours, so you won't have to worry about those slow periods!

Service Manager

Muskoka Nissan is looking for an experienced, driven person to fill our Service Manager role. The successful candidate will be familiar with all aspects of vehicle maintenance, can confidently lead a team with an encouraging demeanor, and able to make quick decisions.

Your duties will include, but are not limited to,

  • Provide exceptional customer service by explaining procedures and repairs as required to the customer, complete with accurate estimates.
  • Ensure high quality service and repairs are provided to customers.
  • Forecast goals and objectives for the department and lead the team to meet them.
  • Prepare and manage annual operating budget for the department.
  • Monitor the flow of work in the Service Department and intervene as required to ensure work is completed properly.
  • Comprehend, keep current, and comply with laws that affect service operations.
  • Keep abreast of new equipment and tools and recommend purchases.
  • Maintain service records and reporting procedures required by the manufacturer and general management.
  • Observe repair order trends.
  • Plan, analyze, and manage department finances through determining shop capacity, services in customer demand, and how department skills match customer requirements.
  • Establish processes and standards to ensure customer satisfaction and efficient operations.
  • Review completed jobs for quality control purposes.
  • Handle escalated customer complaints.
  • Hire, educate, motivate, and evaluate performance of service department staff.
  • Conduct meetings with department staff to review activities and concerns.
  • Ensure staff compliance with health and safety requirements.
  • Act as a liaison with factory representatives.
  • Other duties as assigned
